Position overview

Salary range: The salary range for this position is $64,480-$77,327. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NOYsgsY3aDqvWGUMqrjwdbgcxx3aS5EQ/view. “Off-scale salaries”, i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Advanced Power and Energy Program (APEP) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join its team. The position requires a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field. The postdoctoral researcher’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following: performing experimental design, nanomaterial synthesis, reactor testing and materials characterization using techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, XAS and in situ DRIFTS.

Initial appointments are for two years and renewal is based on job performance and availability of support. Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
