Position description
Applications are being sought for the Specialist Series from:
B.S. or equivalent research experience (Junior Rank)
Expertise consistent with four (4) to six (6) years of training and/or experience in the relevant specialization. Appropriate qualifications for appointees at this rank would include possession of a Master's degree in a relevant discipline or possession of a relevant baccalaureate degree plus three (3) or
more years of research experience (Assistant Rank)
M.S. or equivalent degree or 5-10 years of research experience (Associate Rank)
Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent degree and 10+ years of research experience (Full Rank) with strong laboratory research backgrounds & specialized training for anticipated openings between July 1, 2024 & June 30, 2025 in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of California, Irvine.
The annual salary range for this position is $53,100 - $188,200. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See: Specialist Salary scales - REPRESENTED; NON-REPRESENTED
Initial appointments are for one year & renewal is based on available support. Current faculty & research interests are:

D. Mercola: Promoter binding and activation profiles of cancer

E. Head: Brain Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease
A. La Spada: Mechanisms of Neurodegenerative Disease / Neurotherapeutics

M. Rose: Neuronal Diversity, Omics, and Imaging in Brain Development and Disease
H. Park: Breast cancer, epigenetics, environmental exposures, and biomarkers
F. Rahmatpanah: Prostate cancer disparities, Ovarian cancer, Epigenetics, Human endogenous retroviruses in cancer
H. Mkhikian: Glycoimmunology in health, autoimmunity, and immune senescence; glycoproteomics and cross-linking mass spectrometry
P. Shah: Computational Medicine
A. Qavi: Conventional diagnostics through new optical technologies
