Position description
The UCI Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking applicants for the Research Fellowship in Population Health program for the 2025 - 2026 academic year. Clinical fellows will hold a Health Sciences Clinical Instructor title. Fellowship concentrations include residency and student education with an emphasis on research methodology.
The goals of the fellowship are (1) identification of appropriate areas of research activities, (2) research methodology and experimental design, (3) preparation of grant proposals, (4) scientific writing: preparation of abstracts for scientific meetings and manuscripts for peer review journal publication and (5) administrative preparation as a research director.
Applicant must be eligible to obtain a California Medical License, California DEA registration, UCI Medical Staff Privileges and Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by the start date.
DUTIES: Clinical professional competency and excellent patient care; teaching and advisement to residents, medical students, and other relevant academic learners; scholarly and creative activities applicable to fellowship; and university and public service.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree; completion of an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine Residency training program.
