Position description
The UCI Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking applicants for the Emergency Medicine Simulation Fellowship program for the 2025 - 2026 academic year. Clinical fellows will hold a Health Sciences Clinical Instructor title. Clinical fellows will hold a Health Sciences Clinical Instructor title.
The Medical Simulation Fellowship offers advanced training in simulation teaching, curriculum design, educational program implementation, study design, and research for a graduate of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
The UCI Medical Center is a Level I Trauma center with 5,000 runs/year and a 50,000 ED census, with a nationally recognized three-year residency program since 1989. The UC Irvine Medical Education Simulation Center is a new $40 million, 65,000-square-foot facility that provides telemedicine and simulation-based educational programs and CME courses for thousands of healthcare providers each year. The four-story medical education center includes a full-scale operating room, emergency room, trauma bay, obstetrics suite and critical care unit.
DUTIES: Clinical professional competency and excellent patient care; teaching and advisement to residents, medical students and other relevant academic learners; scholarly and creative activities applicable to fellowship; and university and public service.
Applicant must be eligible to obtain a California Medical License, California DEA registration, UCI Medical Staff Privileges and Board Certification in Emergency Medicine by the start date.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree; completion of an ACGME accredited Emergency Medicine Residency training program.
