Position description
The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking stellar applicants for the position of Assistant Adjunct Professor.
Under minimal supervision of the Associate Dean for Research (Office of Nursing Research and Innovation), the full-time Assistant Adjunct Professor will provide statistical consultation/support for School of Nursing faculty and doctoral students (~40%), help prepare research proposals and reports, presentations, and manuscripts (~40%), and provide consultation, training, and teach graduate level courses (~20%).
Position responsibilities:
• be proficient in the use of statistical packages including SPSS, SAS, STATA, MPlus, R
• be able to conduct complex analyses that can accommodate mixed and multi-level data and repeated measures, observed and latent variables, missing data, and a broad range of distributional characteristics
• conduct independent consultation with faculty and doctoral students in the planning and implementation of data analysis
• work collaboratively with faculty to provide statistical support for research projects and proposals, including calculation of sample size, development of statistical analysis plans for grant submissions, evaluation of analysis approaches appropriate to data characteristics, statistical analyses, development of programs and macros to facilitate analyses, and written, tabular, and graphical summaries of statistical results
• organize and direct the implementation of a regular statistical consulting clinic or office hours for doctoral students in PhD and DNP programs
• prepare written summaries and explanations of analysis methods and statistical results for presentations, reports, publishable manuscripts, and grant proposals
• teach graduate-level basic and advanced statistics courses for health sciences graduate students
• share supervision of junior statistical staff with the Associate Dean for Research and lead statistical support teams on designated research projects
