Position description
The University of California, Irvine, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is inviting applications for a full-time position at the Assistant Professor level. The academic appointment will be in the In-Residence series, which confers membership in the UCI Academic Senate.
Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree and must have significant experience and publication record in the computational analysis of human genomes. Experience with additional omic pipelines, multimodal data, and translational research is preferred. Ideal candidates will also have secured and portable access to multiple large datasets.
Candidates with extramural funding or applications for mentored or independent awards, particularly from the federal government, are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is also expected to have excellent interpersonal and managerial skills, commitments to teaching and mentoring, and a desire to serve.
The successful candidate with join a vibrant and growing health system and department with initiatives in precision omics, lab test innovation, and test translation to the clinic.
The base salary range for this position is $118,000 - $153,000. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
