Position description
We are interested in recruiting a Junior or Assistant Specialist who have experience in cell culture and virus propagation, and some molecular and cell biology skills. They will participate in and support our research program of developing new viral genetic tools, including recombinant neurotropic viruses and AAVs. The specialist is expected to read and critically analyze scholarly articles to stay current with advancements in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design and clone vectors
● Propagate and titer viruses
● Maintain inventory logs for supplies and chemicals
● Update standard operating procedures and protocols
● Keep maintenance logs for laboratory machinery and tools

Qualifications
• Junior Specialists - Appointees to the Junior rank should possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience.
• Assistant Specialists - Appointees to the Assistant rank should possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree), or five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.
