Salary range: The salary range for this position is $90,100 - $104,000. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. Pay is determined by experience. Position description

The Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention in the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for an Associate Project Scientist who will serve as the Manager of the Biobehavioral Shared Resource (BBSR) of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (https://cancer.uci.edu/bbsr). The BBSR supports cancer researchers with expertise and services in planning, conducting, and dissemination of translational biobehavioral research. This includes providing consultation on behavioral and/or quality-of-life patient-reported outcome measurements, research design, data collection, interpretation of self-report data, manuscript preparation, and counseling interventions within clinical trials. The BBSR has participates in translational research in psychoneuroimmunology, examination of behavioral issues that enhance recruitment and compliance within cancer center clinical trials, and development of behavioral and quality-of-life outcomes associated with clinical trials.

The Associate Project Scientist will also be a core member of the Behavioral Medicine Research Lab (https://bmed.publichealth.uci.edu). This might involve contribution to efforts in the recruitment and enrollment of research participants; administration of research assessments and biological specimen collection; delivery of behavioral interventions to research participants; and assistance in grant writing and research dissemination.

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated individual who has excellent management, organization, communication, intervention, and research skills, and understands cancer survivorship. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

QUALIFICATIONS
 Ph.D. degree in psychology, counseling, behavioral science, public health, or other related terminal degree in a related field.
 Knowledge and skills related to research project management, research methods, data collection, behavioral or psychotherapeutic interventions, and proposal and manuscript writing.
 Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
 Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
 Strong teamwork skills.
 Prior experience in cancer survivorship research is a plus.
 Spanish-speaking candidates are highly preferred.
