Position description
The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking stellar applicants for the position of Health Sciences Clinical Professor at the Assistant rank. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching primarily in the DNP and DNP/NP programs and practicing as a nurse practitioner in one of the SON faculty practice clinical sites.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: Candidates must have a PhD, DNP, or EdD, and hold an active and clear California registered nurse license, a California nurse practitioner certification in family practice/lifespan or adult/geriatric primary care, and a California furnishing license. Applicants should possess excellent clinical, oral and written communication. Experience with clinical and didactic teaching and evidence of scholarly activities is required. Candidates must show evidence of collaborative interdisciplinary practice partnerships that advance the science of improving health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities, and of teaching the next generation of nursing professionals. Qualified applicants must have the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and to teach and mentor a diverse student body.
DUTIES: Teaching clinical and didactic courses in the DNP and FNP programs; Clinical precepting of nurse practitioner students; mentoring DNP students.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
• PhD, DNP, or EdD degree.
• An active and clear California registered nurse license.
• An active and clear California nurse practitioner certification in family practice/lifespan or adult/geriatric primary care.
• An active and clear California furnishing license.
• National board certification from ANCC or AANPCB as a Family Practice/Lifespan nurse practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Primary Care nurse practitioner.
• Experience in didactic teaching.
• Minimum of 1 year Experience as a family nurse practitioner or adult/geriatric primary care nurse practitioner.
