Position description
The Department of Informatics at UC Irvine anticipates an opening for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Software Engineering, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence and/or Developer Experience.
Postdoctoral Scholars at UC Irvine contribute to the academic community by enhancing research and education programs, bringing expertise, creativity, and innovation that enrich the environment for faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students alike. Postdoctoral Scholars train under the mentorship of faculty members in preparation for academic or research careers. Initial appointments are for two years, full-time, with salary commensurate with experience.
Applicants are expected to have a strong publication record in top-tier software engineering conferences and journals, such as ICSE, FSE, ASE, MSR, TOSEM, TSE, and EMSE. Additionally, experience publishing in related fields, such as human-computer interaction (e.g., CHI, CSCW) or machine learning/NLP (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, NAACL), is desirable.

Advanced degree (Ph.D.) required in Software Engineering or related field.
