Position description

Junior Specialist position in the Beier Laboratory in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine.

Applications are sought from candidates with a BS and/or BA degree with a strong laboratory research background, publications, and specialized training in biology, biomedical sciences, or related fields.

At least one or two years with wet lab research is strongly encouraged. Research will be related to Alzheimer's disease, substance use disorders, depression, or pain. This is an ongoing recruitment.

Position is dependent on extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal will be dependent on availability of support. Salary will be based on University of California guidelines for the Junior Specialist and will commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointees to the Junior rank should possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience.
