Position description
The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Specialist to work part-time at 50% (20 hours per week) in the laboratory of Professor Abraham Lee. Must have experience in the general field of microfluidics for single-cell functional screening, bispecific antibody screening, immunology/immunotherapy, and live-cell imaging. Specific skills desired include droplet microfluidics, microfabrication, single cell analysis (e.g. scRNA-Seq), cell culture (e.g., primary and derivative cell line culture, PCR/RT-qPCR, cloning, flow cytometry), microfluidic flow simulations to understand cell-flow and particle-flow interactions, and project management experience.
The initial appointment will be 12 to 24-month period. Renewal of appointment will be contingent upon the availability of adequate funding and performance.
Requirements: A PhD in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field. Good communication and written skills are required.

Qualifications
