Position description

Position summary
Dr. Guiyun Yan’s Lab at UC Irvine seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct population genetic and genomic analyses of malaria vectors, with an emphasis on Anopheles spp. (e.g., An. stephensi, An. gambiae). The fellow will work within multi-institutional programs in Africa and the U.S.

Key responsibilities
• Design and execute genomic studies.
• Integrate genomic results with vector ecology, spatial data, and intervention effectiveness to inform adaptive vector control.
• Coordinate with international collaborators; lead manuscripts and presentations; contribute to data management.

• Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology/Evolution, Genetics/Genomics, Entomology, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
• Strong publication records commensurate with career stage and excellent scientific writing/communication skills.
