Position Overview
The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Irvine invites highly motivated applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position in the Wang lab. This scholar will develop and investigate biomaterials for vaccine delivery to improve immune responses towards infectious viruses.

Salary range: $69,073-74,281-- [Level 0-2]

Position Description
The research project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between research groups in the Samueli School of Engineering and the Adeline Yen Mah Vaccine Center at UC Irvine. The ideal applicant should have experience in the following areas:

  • recombinant protein expression and purification
  • nanomaterials synthesis and characterization
  • polymers formulation and characterization
  • in vitro and in vivo immunological approaches, particularly methods to examine antibodies, B cell development, and T cell responses after immunization

Good organization, communication, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, materials science, biomedical engineering, immunology, or other relevant field.
