Position description

Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoctoral scholar position at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Department of Psychology. This is a full-time position for those with training in clinical or counseling psychology. The postdoctoral scholar will work on the supervision of Dr. Stephen Schueller in support of the allcove San Juan Capistrano, youth-drop in project. allcove centers welcome young people ages 12 to 25 with mild to moderate needs looking for support. The postdoctoral scholar will support providing services aligned with the allcove model. This includes assessment and screening, brief interventions, consultations, psychoeducation, individual and group programs, and referral and linkages to other treatments. Postdoctoral scholar will also support training of staff and trainees including peer support specialists and practicum students.

Job responsibilities include clinical services, notetaking, administrative support, providing didactics and supervision, and participating in center and community events. Research opportunities available based on interests of the scholar and would including institutional review board (IRB) protocols, regulatory approval, monitoring critical project timelines, financial tracking, data collection, data management, preparing reports, and working with additional team members and undergraduate students. The position will afford opportunities for professional development and dissemination.

This is an ideal position for applicants with a strong interest in youth mental health, community-based services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Strong experience in evidence-based interventions and brief and single-session interventions are emphasized. Applicants with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology who have completed their clinical internship are invited to apply.
