Salary range: The annual salary range for this position is $76,700-$201,900. The hourly rate for this position is $36.74 - $96.70. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table Represented Exempt and Non-Exempt Salary Scale for the salary range for this position.

Position description

The Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, University of California Irvine, anticipates openings in the Project Scientist Series (Assistant, Associate, and Full Specialist).

The Project Scientist series includes individuals who make significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project as part of a research team. Appointees typically possess advanced expertise and are responsible for designing, conducting, and directing specialized research activities, often with a high degree of independence under the general supervision of a Principal Investigator.

Candidates should have a background in disciplines including, but not limited to, psychiatry, neuroscience, genetics and genomics, neuroimaging, behavioral and cognitive science, addiction research, child and adolescent mental health, computational psychiatry, psychopharmacology, data science, and population mental health, or other relevant research areas employing quantitative, clinical, or translational approaches. This is an ongoing recruitment. Salaries are based on University of California salary scales, which are dependent on academic rank and step, and commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

PhD or MD/PhD candidates with experience in disciplines including, but not limited to, psychiatry, neuroscience, genetics and genomics, neuroimaging, behavioral and cognitive science, addiction research, child and adolescent mental health, computational psychiatry, psychopharmacology, data science, and population mental health, or other relevant research areas employing quantitative, clinical, or translational approaches.
