Position overview

Salary range: The salary range for this position is $280,000-$408,000. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series – Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology invites applications for a faculty position in the Health Sciences Clinical Series (non‑tenure track) at the level of Assistant Professor or higher, commensurate with qualifications. This position is within the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology and is dedicated to providing exceptional clinical and surgical care to our diverse patient population. The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology provides the full spectrum of Women’s Reproductive Health Care including low-risk obstetrics, ambulatory gynecology, and benign gynecologic surgery, as well as supervise residents and medical students in the only academic medical school in Orange County, California.

Responsibilities include providing the full spectrum of obstetrical and gynecologic care within the UCI faculty practice, including GYN inpatient care, along with dedicated time supervising resident continuity clinics at UCI’s Federally Qualified Health Centers. The role also involves supervising and teaching trainees at all levels, participating in scholarly activities, and maintaining a private patient practice. Additional duties include educating medical students, residents, and fellows. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic about contributing to our fourfold mission to discover, teach, heal, and serve.

Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent, possess a California medical license and Drug Enforcement Agency certificate by the start date, and be eligible for or certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Candidates should also have excellent clinical skills, medical knowledge, interest in teaching, and scholarly accomplishments, as well as possess a strong interest in serving the diverse populations in our community.
