Position description
The Hematology/Oncology Division of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) and the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center are seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clinical or Clinical X track) to serve in a leadership role in Breast Medical Oncology. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of successful translational and clinical research in breast cancers with demonstrated leadership in advancing innovative therapeutic strategies, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary cancer care. Candidates with a strong record of scholarly work, established national and international reputation, and demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with an existing multidisciplinary team (medical oncology, breast surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and related specialties) in a matrix academic health science environment, are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential criteria for appointment in this series.
• Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
• Eligible for a California medical license
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology
