Salary range: The salary for this position effective 10/1/26 is $84,800. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. PROFESSOR & PROFESSOR OF TEACHING FISCAL YEAR SALARY SCALE
“Off-scale salaries”, i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking stellar applicants for the position of Health Sciences Clinical Instructor. Registered Nurses (RNs) interested in pursuing an academic career in nursing education in a dynamic and growing School of Nursing should apply. We are seeking RNs who have experience in teaching prelicensure nursing students across a variety of nursing specialties.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a PhD, DNP, EdD, or DNE or an MSN with their terminal degree in progress and must hold an active and unencumbered California RN license. Candidates must demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills as well as didactic teaching, clinical teaching and/or simulation experience. Experience with clinical and didactic teaching in nursing higher education. Experience in research/scholarly activities preferred. Qualified applicants must have demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and to teach and mentor a diverse student body.

DUTIES: Primarily teaching, mentoring, and supervising prelicensure BS and MEPN students in our prelicensure nursing programs. May include research/QI/EBP mentorship.
