Position description

The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine seeks a qualified candidate for a full-time position of Postdoctoral Scholar in the field of Neurological Surgery/Neurointerventional Surgery. The candidate will be under direct supervision of our exceptional team of neurointerventionalists in the Department of Neurological Surgery.

The selected candidate will support the neurointerventional surgery research team. The selected candidate is expected to work closely with the principal investigator and interventional surgery research team. The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) degree or equivalent, the M.D. degree candidate must be enrolled in a postdoctoral program; be a board-certified neurosurgeon, trained in neurointerventional surgery; be knowledgeable about data analysis, writing theses; microsurgical, translational imaging, and animal surgical techniques-specifically rabbit tumor implantation models that include cell preparation and laparotomy as well as angiography, and embolization procedures.

Rank and salary are based on qualifications and experience. Position is two years and renewal is dependent upon funding. The total service of a postdoctoral scholar cannot exceed five years. This will include postdoctoral service at other institutions.
