Course Description: Advanced Web Programming

A focus will be placed on server-side coding and database manipulation. Students will build the "back-end" server software to power web sites and web applications, using the Javascript language, Node.js, and the Express framework. In addition, the course will cover working with a number of ancillary technologies, such as SQL databases and API standards (both REST and GraphQL). Finally, client-server communication using JSON API will be covered.
Individuals hired to teach these courses must understand that all such agreements with the University are made on a course-by-course basis and that the Instructor will be made no guarantee of continual involvement with the University in any capacity.
