Position description
The Department of Criminology, Law and Society (CLS) at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a faculty position in CLS. We welcome applications from outstanding candidates in all fields, who will build on our departmental strengths in theory, research, and policy analysis. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research interests and expertise include one or more of the following substantive areas: Health, Democracy and Human Rights, Technology and AI, Gender, and Climate and the Environment.
The appointment will be made at the Full Professor rank (with tenure); we also welcome applications from current Advanced Associate Professors who would be eligible for promotion to Full Professor in the University of California at the, or close to, time of appointment. The salary range for this position is $103,600-$220,500. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, meaning a salary that is higher than the published systemwide salary at the designated rank and step, may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
