Salary range: Base salary $66,798 (based on a 100% appointment). Actual salary for this 25% appointment will be $16,700.

Position description

The Academic Coordinator reports to the Director of the Program in Global Languages & Cultures. In 2026-27, GLC anticipates hiring one Academic Coordinator at a 25% appointment. This is a fiscal year appointment, with annual renewal contingent primarily on budget and programmatic need (along with satisfactory performance). The hire will assume the working title of Assistant Director. The administrative duties of the position include but are not limited to working collaboratively with the Director, other Assistant Directors/Academic Coordinators, and Administrative Staff in order to:
• Conduct research that directly or indirectly informs curricular innovation and publish such research in peer-reviewed venues
• Participate in professional organizations and present at relevant applied linguistics, communication studies, and/or cultural studies conferences
• Provide training and/or mentorship to other lecturers and/or graduate student instructors
• Create and evaluate a rigorous curriculum for various courses as needed
• Contribute to the creation of, administrating, and grading of the AE Placement Exam
• Contribute to the program’s varied initiatives and spearheading new initiatives based on programmatic capacity and Assistant Director’s expertise and aptitude
