POSITION: Postdoctoral Scholars - Synthetic Biology and Related Fields

The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering has two postdoctoral scholar positions opened in Professor Chang C. Liu’s Synthetic Biology group. The first position will begin in June 2015 and will focus on engineering a genetic system to have exceptional evolutionary stability. The second position will begin August 2015 and will focus on engineering XNA replication in vivo. For more information about Prof. Liu’s group, visit http://liulab.com

Requirements: Seeking highly self-motivated candidates with experience in the fields of genetic engineering, synthetic biology, systems biology, genetics, chemical biology, molecular biology, xenobiology, or directed evolution. The position requires a Ph.D.
Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on job performance and availability of support. Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
